Saint Paisios the Athonite, also known as Elder Paisios, was a renowned Greek Orthodox ascetic born in 1924 in Cappadocia, Asia Minor. He is venerated for his wisdom, humility, and profound spiritual guidance, particularly among Orthodox Christians. His life was marked by monasticism on Mount Athos, prayer, fasting, and dedication to helping those who sought his counsel. He reposed in the Lord in 1994 and was later canonized as a saint in 2015.
